Torrent Power consolidated profit rises 13 per cent in September quarter

The company reported a revenue increase of 24 per cent to Rs 9,801.58 crore for the quarter.

Torrent Power recorded a 13 per cent year-on-year increase in its consolidated profit after tax, reaching Rs 837.96 crore for the September quarter of FY27, according to Urban Acres.

The company's profit after tax was Rs 741.55 crore during the same period last year. Consolidated revenue from operations grew by 24 per cent to Rs 9,801.58 crore, up from Rs 7,876 crore in the previous year.

The firm reported a 29 per cent growth in adjusted EBITDA during the quarter. This figure included Rs 54 crore in principal recovery related to the Nabha acquisition.

Torrent Power attributed the earnings improvement to its renewable energy and distribution businesses, higher plant load factors, and newly commissioned projects. The company also noted the consolidation of its Nabha acquisition as a driver of growth.

While revenue and adjusted EBITDA grew, the profit before tax remained unchanged at Rs 1,130.73 crore. The company stated that higher finance costs resulting from increased borrowings affected the final results.

The company reported no exceptional items during the period. It did not provide further details regarding electricity volumes, consumer numbers, or tariffs in its report.
