Venezuelan man arrested near White House with three guns

Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos allegedly told officers that voices in his head instructed him to kill President Donald Trump.

A Venezuelan national was arrested near the White House on Thursday night after being found with three firearms and ammunition in a parked vehicle, according to reports by Moneycontrol, News18 and Times Now.

Secret Service officers approached Ronny Yordrix Guanipa Chrinos, 26, on Constitution Avenue after noticing him acting suspiciously in a blue Ford F-150. The encounter began as a welfare check, according to a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) statement.

Chrinos reportedly used Google Translate to tell officers he had weapons in the vehicle and wished to surrender them. Officers recovered an AR-15-style rifle, a Glock 43X pistol, a MAC-10 handgun and various rounds of ammunition. The vehicle had been reported stolen.

Chrinos allegedly told investigators that voices in his head directed him to come to Washington, D.C. to kill President Donald Trump. He claimed he had been living in the vehicle and had purchased the weapons a month earlier.

DHS stated that Chrinos entered the United States illegally through Texas in March 2024. Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the suspect was arrested before he could harm anyone.

Chrinos faces multiple charges, including unlawful transportation of firearms and theft. He remains in US Marshals Service custody and is expected to appear in federal court on Monday, according to a federal law enforcement source.
