Bengaluru Metro services delayed after passenger enters tracks at Indiranagar

A 20-year-old passenger entered the tracks to retrieve a dropped token, leading to a 10-minute delay on the Purple Line.

Passenger Ravikanth entered the tracks at Indiranagar Metro station on Friday morning to retrieve a dropped token. The incident occurred at approximately 9:22am while the 20-year-old was travelling from Indiranagar towards MG Road.

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) stated that the Emergency Trip System (ETS) and Emergency Stop Plunger (ESP) were activated at the station. Security personnel rescued the passenger and handed him over to Metro staff.

The BMRCL said train services on the Purple Line were delayed by approximately 10 minutes. Some trains on the Green Line were also regulated to prevent overcrowding at the Kempegowda Majestic Interchange Station.
