Bay of Bengal depression to bring rain to Telangana

Nine districts in Telangana may see heavy showers on November 2 as a weather system moves towards the coast.

A depression over the southeast Bay of Bengal is forecast to bring rain to Telangana, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD). The system is predicted to intensify into a cyclonic storm before moving towards the Andhra Pradesh coast.

IMD Centre Hyderabad Head S. Stella said the system will likely weaken into a depression by the time it reaches Telangana. She stated the state is unlikely to feel the impact of a cyclonic storm because the intensity will reduce and clouds will shear off as it weakens.

Telangana is expected to receive light to moderate rainfall between November 2 and November 4. Isolated heavy rainfall is predicted for certain areas on November 3 and November 4.

On November 2, heavy rain is very likely at isolated locations in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Jagtial, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal. On November 3, heavy rainfall may occur in Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal.

The system is expected to strengthen into a deep depression on the evening of October 31 and become a cyclonic storm within the following 24 hours. It is projected to cross the Andhra Pradesh coast on the morning of November 3.
