Diljit Dosanjh pauses Delhi concert to honour CRPF officer
The singer told a female security officer that her presence reminded him of his mother during his Aura tour performance.
Singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh paused his Aura India Tour concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Friday to honour security personnel. According to reports from Hindustan Times and Outlook, the performer invited a female CRPF officer onto the stage to acknowledge her presence.
Dosanjh told the officer that she reminded him of his mother. He mentioned receiving a call from his mother earlier that day and said that looking at the officer made him feel as though his mother was standing beside him. The singer also presented her with a small gift package and saluted her on stage.
The singer thanked the Delhi Police and the CRPF for ensuring smooth arrangements, stating that the audience would not feel safe without them. He also expressed gratitude to the Delhi fans and organisations including BookMyShow Live and the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on social media.
The concert was held under enhanced security with hundreds of personnel deployed. While the show faced initial uncertainty after Delhi Police withheld permission due to security and law-and-order commitments during the festive season, organisers later submitted a detailed management plan to secure clearance.
