Abhijeet Dipke seeks reconciliation with Diljit Dosanjh after Delhi concert remarks

Cockroach Janta Party leader Abhijeet Dipke expressed admiration for the singer despite a previous disagreement regarding student protests.

Cockroach Janta Party leader Abhijeet Dipke has reached out to singer-actor Diljit Dosanjh to move past a disagreement from June, according to reports by The Indian Express, The Tribune and Free Press Journal. The outreach follows Dosanjh's recent comments during a concert at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi on Friday.

During the performance, Dosanjh addressed critics of his decision to remain neutral during protests at Jantar Mantar regarding NEET paper-leak allegations. He told the audience, "Don't teach Punjabis how to fight battles," and noted that he had fought for a long time for his film, Satluj, which he said had been mocked.

Dosanjh also reiterated his previous stance of being an artist rather than a politician. He stated, "I love all of you because I am an artist, bro," while adding that he prefers to remain quiet.

In a social media post on Saturday, Dipke said he was hurt by the singer's earlier comments because he held Dosanjh in high regard. He noted that he had attended the singer's Chicago concert in May out of respect for his authenticity.

Dipke concluded his message by asking Dosanjh to consider him a younger brother and let the matter go. He ended the note by quoting lyrics from one of Dosanjh's songs.
