Haryana Congress calls BJP protest campaign a diversionary tactic

The party claimed the BJP's new campaign is an attempt to avoid questions regarding electoral transparency and constitutional institutions.

The Haryana Congress on Saturday described the Bharatiya Janata Party’s ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ campaign as an attempt to divert attention from questions about electoral transparency and the credibility of constitutional institutions, according to The Hindu.

The BJP's nationwide campaign coincides with a protest march scheduled by the INDIA bloc for November 1 in New Delhi against the Election Commission’s special intensive revision exercise.

Congress leader Mr. Dutt stated that the BJP is branding those demanding answers as anarchists instead of addressing allegations of vote theft.

Mr. Dutt said the Congress party, under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi, is fighting to protect the Constitution and ensure free and fair elections.

He questioned why the Election Commission is reluctant to ensure transparency in the revision of electoral rolls and why allegations of electoral manipulation are not being investigated.

BJP national president Nitin Nabin will lead a padyatra in Rohtak, Haryana, on November 1 as part of the nationwide campaign against what the BJP calls Opposition misinformation propaganda.
