Iran's Supreme Leader warns US and Israel against fresh attacks
Mojtaba Khamenei has ordered an immediate and geographically unrestricted military response to any new threats against the country.
Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei warned the United States and Israel on Saturday against launching new military or terrorist attacks. According to reports from Hindustan Times, The Pioneer and The New Indian Express, Khamenei stated that Iran's armed forces and people would decide how to respond if hostilities resume.
During his first reported meeting with senior military commanders, Khamenei directed that any threat must be met with a response that is immediate, impactful, and has no geographical limits. He also instructed commanders to update Iran's target list to include all tangible and intangible assets of the American-Zionist enemy.
The warning follows threats from the US and Israel regarding a possible return to military strikes. US President Donald Trump said on Friday that he expects the war to end soon but requires a guarantee against nuclear weapons. However, on October 24, Trump suggested the possibility of renewed military action.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Saturday that Tehran has examined a message from US Vice President JD Vance. Araqchi noted that Iran's conditions for talks include reducing US military presence in the region and lifting sanctions imposed after the Islamabad memorandum of understanding.
Tensions have remained high since February 28, when the US and Israel launched joint strikes on Iran. The conflict has impacted regional security and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, which has seen restricted movement and reported incidents involving oil tankers.
