Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah marries journalist Nidhi Razdan
The couple announced their marriage on social media on Saturday, following a ceremony held on Friday.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and journalist Nidhi Razdan formalised their relationship on Friday, October 30, according to reports from The Times of India and Outlook. The couple shared photographs of the marriage on social media on Saturday, October 31.
The marriage was solemnised under the Special Marriage Act. Reports indicate the wedding ceremonies were held in Srinagar and New Delhi, with a reception scheduled in Delhi on Saturday.
On X, Abdullah wrote, "A new journey began yesterday," while Razdan posted, "It's done bro." The social media announcements included ring emojis.
The wedding was attended by family members from both sides. Abdullah's parents, Farooq Abdullah and Mollie, his three sisters, and other relatives were present. Razdan's parents, MK Razdan and Sarla Razdan, also attended the celebrations.
The marriage follows the dissolution of Abdullah's previous marriage to Payal Abdullah. The Supreme Court dissolved that marriage by mutual consent in July after the couple reached a settlement.
