Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah marries Nidhi Razdan
The couple announced their marriage on social media following a ceremony held on Friday.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah married journalist Nidhi Razdan in New Delhi on Friday, October 30, according to reports from The Pioneer, The Indian Express and Outlook.
The couple announced the news on social media on Saturday, October 31. Abdullah posted a photograph on X and Instagram with the caption, “A new journey began yesterday,” while Razdan wrote, “It’s done bro” on X.
The marriage was solemnised under the Special Marriage Act. While some reports mention a private ceremony in Srinagar, others state the wedding took place in New Delhi. A reception was scheduled for Saturday in Delhi.
The wedding was attended by family members, including Abdullah's parents, Farooq Abdullah and Mollie, and his three sisters. Razdan's parents, MK Razdan and Sarla Razdan, were also present.
This marriage follows the dissolution of Abdullah's previous marriage to Payal Abdullah. The Supreme Court dissolved that marriage in July after the two parties reached a mutual settlement and agreed to end their relationship.
Razdan, a senior journalist who has worked with NDTV, is 49 years old. Abdullah is 56 years old.
