Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar Abdullah marries journalist Nidhi Razdan
The Chief Minister and journalist Nidhi Razdan announced their marriage on social media following a ceremony in New Delhi.
Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, 56, married journalist Nidhi Razdan, 49, in a ceremony held on Friday, October 30, according to reports from The Indian Express, The Hindu and Deccan Herald.
The couple announced the marriage on Saturday, October 31, by sharing photographs on X. Abdullah wrote, “A new journey began yesterday,” while Razdan posted, “It’s done bro.”
Family sources stated that the Abdullah and Razdan families held a function in Srinagar earlier this month before the formal registration of the marriage in New Delhi. The wedding was attended by Abdullah's parents, Farooq Abdullah and Mollie, his three sisters, and Razdan's parents, M K Razdan and Sarla Razdan.
Razdan is a prominent journalist who has worked with NDTV and is known for reporting on national politics. The couple had been seen together frequently at official functions in Jammu and Kashmir.
This marriage follows the dissolution of Abdullah's previous marriage to Payal Nath. The Supreme Court of India finalised the divorce through a mutual consent settlement on July 31, 2026, after the couple had announced their separation in 2011.
