JSW Combat SUV spotted testing ahead of December 4 launch
The upcoming plug-in hybrid SUV is expected to feature a 1,100 km range, according to Mint.
The JSW Combat SUV has been spotted undergoing testing before its scheduled debut on December 4, 2026, according to Mint. The vehicle marks the first product from JSW Motors as it enters the Indian passenger vehicle market as an independent brand.
The plug-in hybrid SUV is based on the Chery Jetour T2 and features a boxy design with a tall stance. Visible exterior elements include 20-inch alloy wheels, roof rails, side steps, and a spare wheel mounted on the tailgate.
The cabin is expected to include a 15.6-inch central touchscreen and a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster. Other anticipated interior features are ventilated front seats, electrically adjustable seats with memory functions, and a 12-speaker Sony sound system.
Safety features may include a 540-degree camera system and Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems. The SUV is expected to offer seating for five people and a boot capacity of about 752 litres.
The powertrain is expected to combine a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine with two electric motors and an 18.4 kWh battery. This setup could produce 360 bhp and 610 Nm of torque, with a total range of approximately 1,100 km.
JSW Motors is establishing this business separately from its existing partnership with MG Motor India. The company may expand its SUV range in future years using models from other Chery brands.
