Maruti Suzuki Dzire surpasses 35 lakh production milestone

The sedan achieved the production feat in approximately 18 years and nine months, according to Times Now.

The Maruti Suzuki Dzire has surpassed a production milestone of 35 lakh units over its 19-year history, according to Times Now. The sedan achieved this milestone in approximately 18 years and nine months due to demand in local and overseas markets.

The vehicle is currently produced at the company's Manesar facility. It joins the Alto, Swift and WagonR as models from the automaker to cross the 35 lakh production mark.

The sedan's production pace has increased over time. While it took seven years and three months to produce the first 10 lakh units, the latest 10 lakh units were manufactured in four years and four months.

The current version of the Dzire, launched in November 2024, was the first Maruti car to receive a 5-star Global NCAP safety rating. It was also the first sedan to get a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating.

The sedan is powered by a 1.2-litre Z-Series petrol engine with manual or AMT gearbox options. The Dzire price in India starts at Rs 6.31 lakh (ex-showroom).
