MLC Shashil Namoshi urges State government to grant 3 per cent DA hike

The Kalaburagi MLC requested the government to approve the dearness allowance increase retrospectively from July 1, 2026.

Kalaburagi MLC Shashil G. Namoshi has urged the State government to approve a 3 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for State government employees, according to The Hindu.

Namoshi said the hike should take effect from July 1, 2026, and requested that the government issue an official order and cover arrears without delay.

The MLC stated that the demand was raised by the Karnataka State Government Employees’ Association. He said the government should respond positively to these demands to safeguard the financial interests of employees' families.

Namoshi pointed to the rising prices of healthcare, education expenses, and essential commodities. He said a DA hike would provide financial relief and security to families.

The MLC also stressed that State government employees should receive benefits in line with those announced for Union government employees to avoid disparities. He added that employees should not be compelled to submit repeated representations to secure their benefits.
