Revanth Reddy seeks central approval for six railway projects in Telangana

Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy urged Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw to sanction infrastructure projects to support state economic targets.

Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has requested the Central Government to expedite and sanction six key railway infrastructure projects for the state. In a representation to Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Friday, the Chief Minister sought support for these projects to help achieve the state's economic goals.

The proposals include the 130-km Vikarabad-Krishna railway line, the Hyderabad-Amaravati-Bandar Port freight corridor, and the Hyderabad Regional Ring Rail. Other projects mentioned are the Dornakal-Gadwal railway line via Kalwakurthy and the 126-km Kalwakurthy-Macherla railway line.

Mr. Revanth Reddy stated that the Detailed Project Report for the Vikarabad-Krishna line, estimated at ₹2,750 crore, has been sent to the Railway Board. He noted that the state government will bear the full land acquisition cost for this line.

The Chief Minister also requested the expedited development of Detailed Project Reports for four lines where surveys have been sanctioned. These include the Kacheguda-Jaggayyapeta (250 km), Patancheru-Adilabad (320 km), Bodhan-Latur (175 km), and the 8-km Akkannapet bypass line.

The Chief Minister said improved connectivity is critical to reaching a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. He noted the Hyderabad-Amaravati-Bandar Port freight corridor would assist in exporting pharmaceutical production worth over $7 billion annually.
