Three Kuki community members killed in Manipur gunfight

The exchange of fire between rival armed groups occurred in the forested hills of Noney district on Saturday morning.

Three people from the Kuki community were killed during a gunfight between rival armed groups in Manipur's Noney district on Saturday, according to The New Indian Express.

The police stated that the exchange of fire began in the morning at Kekru Naga village and lasted for several hours in a forested hill area.

Police said that necessary security measures have been implemented in the region.

The Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM), which is the apex body of the Kuki community, issued a statement condemning the deaths and alleged that Naga militant groups were behind the incident.

The organisation has called for accountability and justice, while also asking the State government to take immediate action.
