CM Yogi Adityanath flags off new Vande Bharat Sleeper Express service
The new rail services connect Varanasi to New Delhi and Prayagraj to benefit pilgrims and legal professionals.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday flagged off the Vande Bharat Sleeper Express service between Varanasi and New Delhi. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also flagged off the new train linking Kashi and Delhi earlier in the day.
Adityanath said the Vande Bharat Sleeper train connects Kashi, which he described as the spiritual and cultural capital of India, to the national capital.
The Chief Minister also announced the launch of a MEMU train service connecting Kashi and Prayagraj. He stated this service would benefit millions of pilgrims, legal professionals, and litigants travelling to the Allahabad High Court.
A third MEMU train service was launched between Banaras and Raja Talab. Adityanath said this would facilitate travel for students, youth, traders, farmers, and women.
Adityanath expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is the Member of Parliament from Varanasi, for providing these railway facilities ahead of Diwali.
