Woman booked after allegedly ramming vehicles and targeting police in Mumbai
The woman allegedly tried to run over on-duty officers at a Juhu traffic signal on Friday night.
A woman has been booked for allegedly ramming her car into several vehicles and attempting to run over police officers in Mumbai's Juhu area. According to The Hindu, the incident took place near the Sangeet Bharati Chowk signal around 8.30 pm on Friday.
An official stated that the woman hit a stationary car and then knocked down a scooter, a motorcycle, and another car while trying to speed away. The woman also allegedly attempted to steer her vehicle towards police personnel stationed at the spot.
When a female officer tried to intervene and requested that she stop, the woman reportedly began filming the officers with her mobile phone and created a ruckus. In a video shared online, the woman was heard claiming that the officers were harassing her.
A constable eventually directed the driver to move her vehicle to the side of the road to reduce traffic congestion. Bystanders at the scene recorded the episode on their mobile phones.
The Juhu police registered a case regarding the accident and rash driving following a complaint from the person whose car was hit from behind. Officials said that further investigation is currently underway.
