Jammu and Kashmir has seen 780 terrorists eliminated since 2020, says Sinha

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha stated that a zero-tolerance policy against terrorism has led to a significant improvement in the security situation.

Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said on Saturday that more than 780 terrorists have been killed in Jammu and Kashmir since 2020. He was speaking at a function to mark the J&K Foundation Day.

Sinha said the region is undergoing a security transformation because the government's zero-tolerance policy against terrorism has crippled terror networks. He claimed that local recruitment has ended and stone-pelting has been erased.

The Lieutenant Governor stated that authorities are continuing a crackdown on narco-terrorism. He said thousands of drug smugglers and peddlers were arrested this year, resulting in the attachment of illicit assets and the demolition of drug-funded mansions.

Sinha described the 2019 abrogation of Article 370 as a milestone for integration, equality and development. He said the move provided citizens with rights that were denied for decades and offered freedom from fear.

The Lieutenant Governor noted that the Foundation Day coincided with the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. He said the occasion was significant as Patel's vision of national unity continues to inspire the country.

Sinha added that democratic institutions have been strengthened through the implementation of grassroots structures and Assembly elections. He said terrorism and separatism have been replaced by democracy and public participation.
