Madhya Pradesh CM plants Sankalp Tree ahead of Army Day 2027
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav used soil from all 55 districts to plant a sapling in Bhopal.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav planted an Arjun sapling, named the ‘Sankalp Tree’, at Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal on Sunday, November 1. According to the Hindustan Times, the plantation marks the state’s 71st Foundation Day and the upcoming Army Day 2027 celebrations.
The sapling was planted with soil gathered from various towns, cities, and villages across all 55 districts of the state. This collection was conducted under the ‘Meri Maati’ campaign, an initiative organised by the Indian Army and the National Cadet Corps (NCC).
Yadav stated that the soil from every district represents the unity of Madhya Pradesh despite its diverse traditions and languages. He also visited a military exhibition at the memorial that displayed the Indian Army’s technological innovations and operational capabilities.
The Chief Minister noted that military events, including an Army Day parade and combat demonstrations, will take place in Bhopal between November 1 and January 15, 2027. He said these activities would allow the public to learn about the courage of Indian soldiers.
Yadav mentioned that 2026 is being observed as the ‘Farmer Welfare Year’, while 2027 will be marked as the ‘Year of Youth’. He expressed hope that the Army Day programmes would provide inspiration to young people in the state.
