Woman found dead in Faridabad hotel room as companion goes missing
Police are searching for a man named Shekhar after a woman from Bihar was discovered dead in an OYO hotel on Saturday.
A 35-year-old woman was found dead in a hotel room in Faridabad, Haryana, on Saturday. The man who accompanied her to the hotel is currently missing, according to police.
The deceased, identified as Chandni from Kharagpur, Bihar, had arrived at an OYO hotel on Mathura Road with Shekhar, also a resident of Bihar. The pair checked into a room and identified themselves as a couple.
A hotel staff member discovered the woman lying dead on the bed late at night after noticing the room door was open. The staff member alerted the manager and employees, who then informed the police.
Inspector Umesh Kumar, SHO of the City police station, said no visible injury marks were observed on the body. He noted that Chandni was wearing several bangles on her wrists.
Doctors at the Civil Hospital declared the woman dead. Police have informed her family and placed the body in the mortuary for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
Authorities are currently searching for Shekhar. The exact cause of death remains unknown pending the post-mortem report, Inspector Kumar said.
