Two bodies found during search operation in Manipur

Security forces recovered the remains from a hilly area while searching for two youths who went missing in October.

Security forces located two bodies in a hilly region of Manipur's Kangpokpi district on Sunday morning, according to reports by Deccan Herald and ThePrint.

The discovery occurred during a mission to find two youths from Taphou Kuki village who had been missing since October 29.

Joint teams including the Manipur Police, CoBRA, CRPF, Assam Rifles, and RAF conducted the search in the area east of NH-2 along the SP Road, a police statement said.

The SP Road is a hilly stretch that links the Kangpokpi and Senapati districts.

A police officer stated that the recovered remains are suspected to be those of the two missing Kuki youths.

Police said the identification process is currently in progress and they are completing the required legal formalities.
