Madhya Pradesh CM plants Sankalp Tree ahead of Army Day 2027

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav planted an Arjun sapling using soil collected from all 55 districts of the state.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav planted an Arjun sapling, named the ‘Sankalp Tree’, at Shaurya Smarak in Bhopal on Sunday, according to the Hindustan Times. The plantation was part of an initiative for the state’s 71st Foundation Day and the upcoming Army Day 2027 celebrations.

The soil used for the sapling was gathered from towns, cities, and villages across all 55 districts of Madhya Pradesh under the ‘Meri Maati’ campaign. Yadav said the collection of soil from every district represented the unity of the state despite its diverse cultures and traditions.

During the programme, the chief minister visited a military exhibition showcasing the Indian Army’s technological innovations and operational capabilities. The exhibition provided a preview of the Army Day parade, Ran Hunkar, and an integrated battle demonstration scheduled for January 15, 2027.

Yadav noted that the Army would demonstrate its valour in Bhopal between November 1 and January 15, 2027. He mentioned that the Agniveer scheme and the National Cadet Corps help encourage youth to serve the nation.

The chief minister stated that 2026 is being observed as the ‘Farmer Welfare Year’, while 2027 will be the ‘Year of Youth’. He said the Army Day events would serve as an inspiration for the state's young people.
