Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi linked the state's security milestone to industrial growth during National Unity Day celebrations in Bhubaneswar.
Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi declared the state completely Naxal-free during National Unity Day celebrations at the OSAP 7th Battalion Parade Ground in Bhubaneswar on October 31, according to Urban Acres.
Addressing an event marking the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Majhi said sustained police operations and government measures had eliminated the Naxalite and Maoist threat.
The Chief Minister credited the Odisha Police for its efficiency and dedication, noting that operations were conducted under the guidance of the Prime Minister and the leadership of the Union Home Minister.
Majhi stated that areas where residents previously feared to travel during daylight no longer face that atmosphere of fear. He linked this security milestone to economic development.
The Chief Minister argued that peace and a strong law-and-order system are necessary for industrial growth, noting that investors from India and abroad have shown interest in the state over the past two years.
The Bhubaneswar event was attended by Home Department Additional Chief Secretary Hemant Sharma, Director of Intelligence R.P. Koche, and other senior police officers.
