Delhi and Services seek outright wins in Ranji Trophy clash
Both teams require a victory at the Palam 'A' ground to improve their standings in Group C.
Delhi and Services face each other in the fourth round of the 2026-27 Ranji Trophy in Group C starting on Monday. According to The Hindu, Delhi requires an outright victory at the Airforce Complex Ground in Palam to remain in contention for the knockouts when the competition resumes in January.
Services, led by Rajat Paliwal, currently has one point from three matches following a rain-affected draw against Odisha in Bhubaneswar last week. Delhi previously recorded a nine-wicket loss to Bengal, a high-scoring draw against Gujarat, and a rain-affected draw against Jharkhand.
The match will be played on a fresh pitch at the Palam 'A' ground. While Delhi is the designated host, Services plays all its home games at this venue and possesses greater familiarity with the conditions.
Services skipper Rajat Paliwal said after practice that the pitches at Palam were relaid before the season began. He noted that the track for their last home game was unexpected and that fresh pitches can take time to settle down.
Paliwal added that the pitch currently looks in better shape compared to the last two games, but he said it is hard to judge how it will play.
