Temple wearable beats Apple Watch in heart rate accuracy test, says Goyal

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal claims the upcoming Temple device provides more accurate heart rate tracking during high-intensity workouts.

Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has claimed that the upcoming Temple wearable tracks heart rate more accurately than several leading devices, including the Apple Watch Series 12, according to a report by India Today.

Goyal stated on X that Temple aims to be the ultimate wearable for elite performance athletes, focusing on heart rate tracking in zones 4 and 5.

To test accuracy, the company compared Temple with five flagship wearables against a Polar H10 chest strap used as a reference. Goyal said the Apple Watch Series 12 came closest to Temple, while other wearables were well behind.

The company claims Temple performed better than an untaped Polar H10 chest strap during high-intensity exercise. Goyal explained that Temple's adhesive design and its position on the side of the head over a major artery provide an advantage.

Pre-orders for the device are set to open in India at 9:30 PM IST tonight. The wearable is listed at Rs 85,000, with deliveries expected to take around three months.

Temple has published its research paper and data on its website. While the company conducted the study, independent researchers are currently conducting an extended study.
