The company discussed strengthening its presence in Mangaluru and Udupi with IT Minister Priyank Kharge during talks on digital infrastructure.
NTT DATA is looking to expand its operations in Mangaluru and Udupi, according to a report by Urban Acres. The company held discussions with Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge on Monday regarding digital infrastructure and its presence in the coastal region.
The talks focused on the Beyond Bengaluru programme, which seeks to develop technology ecosystems outside the state capital through infrastructure, policy support and skilling. The company, which recently acquired WinWire and Karnataka-based Niveus Solutions, noted that the availability of skilled talent is a major advantage for state expansion.
Minister Kharge said the government aims to bring employment and investment to emerging talent hubs across the state. He stated that the focus is on moving opportunities to where talent exists and working with industry to create solutions for technology clusters.
The meeting also covered the Sustainable Data Centre Policy and potential collaboration in cloud services and data centres. Officials discussed the proposed Mangaluru cable landing station to improve digital connectivity in the coastal area.
Kharge encouraged the company to expand into sectors such as automotive manufacturing, healthcare, biotechnology and life sciences. The discussions also included potential cooperation in innovation and startup incubation through the Government First programme.
The minister's office has not announced any final investment amounts, job numbers or confirmed facility locations. Further details depend on the company's expansion plans and future collaboration with the state.
