Aditya Birla Group plans to expand investments in Uttar Pradesh

Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla indicated the conglomerate intends to increase its presence in the state where it already operates several industrial facilities.

Aditya Birla Group Chairman Kumar Mangalam Birla indicated on Saturday that the conglomerate is looking to expand its investments in Uttar Pradesh, according to a Mint report citing ANI.

Speaking to reporters in Varanasi during the 15th convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Technology (BHU), Birla said the group has a strong association with the state and plans to invest further.

While Birla highlighted the group's existing industries in the state, he did not provide specific details regarding the investment amount, sectors, or expected timelines.

Addressing potential collaboration, Birla clarified that no discussions took place during the event regarding a partnership between Hindalco, the group's metals business, and IIT (BHU).

The chairman emphasised the need for a bridge between industry and academia, stating that closer ties could allow businesses to benefit from high-quality research conducted in India.

Birla also advised graduates to continuously learn and build emotional resilience to make the most of the opportunities available in India today.
