BJP alleges rift between Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra
The BJP claimed the Congress has split into two camps and accused the Leader of Opposition of sidelining his sister.
The BJP on Sunday claimed that the Congress party has split into two camps led by Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. According to The Hindu, the party alleged that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was not allowed to speak at two recent INDIA bloc protests because the Leader of Opposition feared being sidelined by his sister.
BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said in a video message on Instagram that Priyanka Gandhi Vadra appeared unhappy at both a mock parliament and a rally at Ramlila Maidan. Patra questioned if a political game is being played within the Gandhi family and asked if her vote had been stolen within the family.
The INDIA bloc held a symbolic public impeachment of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Saturday. The grouping also held a rally at Ramlila Maidan on Sunday against alleged voter list revision and electoral irregularities.
BJP spokesperson Pradeep Bhandari accused the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha of suppressing the rise of his sister. Bhandari claimed that during the mock parliament, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra was seated in the second row and was not given an opportunity to speak.
Bhandari further questioned whether a battle between the two siblings is unfolding in the open. He asked if efforts are being made to push Priyanka Gandhi Vadra into the background while Rahul Gandhi attempts to relaunch himself.
