The district administration has advised residents to avoid certain travel routes and stay away from water bodies as heavy rains are forecast.

The Nagarkurnool district administration has issued a list of do's and don'ts for residents following the intensification of Cyclone Murasu into a severe cyclonic storm. According to The Hindu, the storm intensified over the west central and southwest Bay of Bengal in the early hours of Monday, November 2, 2026.

Nagarkurnool is one of six districts in Telangana forecast to receive heavy to very heavy rains on Monday. An official communication released late Sunday also predicted strong gusty winds and lightning for the night between Monday and Tuesday.

The administration has urged people to avoid travelling to Somasila, the Nallamalla ghat road, and various tourist spots. Residents have been advised to refrain from standing near electric poles, hoardings, or under trees, and to stay away from rivers and tanks.

District Collector Hemanta Keshav Patil has appealed to farmers to take precautions regarding agricultural work and to keep cattle in safe locations. The administration also warned people not to cross overflowing causeways or streams.
