Former Delhi Assembly secretary Ranjeet Singh formally relieved

Ranjeet Singh has been relieved from the Delhi government to join the Mizoram government following a transfer process initiated earlier this year.

Ranjeet Singh was formally relieved from the Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi on October 31 to join the Government of Mizoram, according to The Tribune.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued transfer orders for several AGMUT cadre officers, including Singh, on February 24, 2026.

The formal relieving marks the completion of Singh's transfer process, though his successor had already assumed charge at the Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat in June.

Yumnam Arun Kumar, who came on deputation from the Lok Sabha Secretariat, assumed charge as secretary of the Delhi Legislative Assembly on June 17.

The Delhi government’s Services Department issued Order No. 315 on August 6, granting retrospective administrative approval for Kumar’s appointment effective from June 17.

By the time Singh was formally relieved on October 31, Kumar had already been serving as the secretary of the Delhi Assembly for more than four months.
