One lakh Telangana students to receive free AI and cloud training

The Telangana AI and Cloud Skilling Initiative will be implemented by TASK in collaboration with Amazon Web Services.

Minister for IT and Industries D. Sridhar Babu announced on Monday that one lakh students across Telangana will receive free training in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Cloud Computing. According to the Deccan Chronicle, the Telangana AI and Cloud Skilling Initiative will be carried out by the Telangana Academy for Skill and Knowledge (TASK) and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

An agreement between TASK and AWS was signed at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana Secretariat on Monday.

The programme will not place any financial burden on the State Government, students, or educational institutions.

Sridhar Babu said students from 643 TASK affiliated colleges will get industry-oriented training in areas such as Data Engineering, Machine Learning, Generative AI, AI, and Cloud Computing. The initiative will include access to the AWS Cloud Console for practical learning and one year of free access to over 900 digital courses through AWS Skill Builder.

The training will be available to students in Engineering and Science, as well as those in non-STEM courses like Arts and Commerce. Participants will also receive discount vouchers for global certification exams.

The programme will feature hackathons and sessions with technology experts to provide practical exposure. Sridhar Babu added that faculty members from the participating colleges will also undergo training in these technologies.

To help with employment, TASK will hold specific job fairs for students who successfully finish the training programme.
