Pune ACB books retired agriculture official and wife for disproportionate assets
The Anti-Corruption Bureau alleges Kiran Shamrao Jadhav accumulated assets worth ₹4.37 crore beyond his known income sources.
The Pune unit of the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a case against retired Maharashtra agriculture deputy director Kiran Shamrao Jadhav and his wife, Sangeeta Jadhav, for allegedly possessing disproportionate assets. According to reports by the Hindustan Times and Free Press Journal, the assets are valued at approximately ₹4.37 crore.
The investigation found that Jadhav's assets were 128.7 per cent higher than his known sources of income during the period between June 4, 1994, and December 2, 2025. The ACB alleged that Sangeeta Jadhav abetted her husband in acquiring these assets through corrupt means.
The inquiry into Jadhav was ordered by the ACB director general on December 2, 2025, following allegations of irregularities in the agriculture department raised by BJP MLA Suresh Dhas in April 2025. Jadhav, who is currently associated with the Agriculture Technology Management Agency (ATMA) in Solapur, previously served in the fertiliser quality control department and the vigilance squad.
The case was registered at the Bundgarden police station on Monday, November 2, under sections 13(1)(e) and 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act and section 49 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Additional superintendent of police Ajit Patil conducted the open inquiry. Arjun Bhosale will lead the investigation, overseen by Pune ACB superintendent of police Shirish Sardeshpande.
