Harsh Dubey takes nine wickets to break Vidarbha Ranji Trophy record

The left-arm spinner recorded the best figures for a Vidarbha bowler in the history of the tournament against Madhya Pradesh.

Left-arm spinner Harsh Dubey took nine for 53 to set a new Vidarbha record during an Elite Group A Ranji Trophy match against Madhya Pradesh at the VCA Jamtha Stadium in Nagpur on Sunday.

According to Sportstar, Dubey's performance broke the previous record of eight for 39 held by Arun Ogiral, which was set against the same opponent in 1967.

Madhya Pradesh won the toss and elected to bat first, but they were bowled out for 209 in 66.1 overs.

Dubey dismissed Saksham Purohit, Chanchal Rathore, Shubham Sharma, Rajat Patidar, Atharva Mahajan, Saransh Jain, Arshad Khan, Kumar Kartikeya Singh, and Ravi Kiran.

Atharva Mahajan top-scored for the visitors with 85 runs before being caught by R. Samarth off the bowling of Dubey.

Vidarbha reached 56 for the loss of four wickets in 23 overs, with Kumar Kartikeya Singh taking three wickets for Madhya Pradesh.
