Tamil Nadu growth has stalled under TVK government, says MK Stalin
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam supremo MK Stalin claimed the state is moving into reverse gear under C Joseph Vijay.
Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) chief MK Stalin on Monday criticised the Tamil Nadu government, alleging that the state's growth has stalled under C Joseph Vijay and the TVK.
According to ANI, Stalin posted on X that the state's GST revenue growth has fallen below the national average, claiming the progress of Tamil Nadu has been buried.
Stalin further alleged that Korean investments worth ₹1,614 crore intended for Tamil Nadu were instead directed to Andhra Pradesh due to negligence by the current administration.
He also claimed that Guidance TN, an agency previously known for attracting investments, has been sacrificed to the egos of certain individuals in the administration.
DMK Member of the Legislative Assembly Thangam Thenarasu noted that in October, Tamil Nadu recorded 3 per cent GST revenue growth, while neighbouring states like Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana saw higher growth.
Thenarasu stated that while taxes on certain imported goods contributed to revenue, revenue from domestic production is declining, which he described as an indicator of economic stagnation.
