Telangana to finish 25 hospital buildings by March 2027

Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha directed officials to ensure completed facilities are equipped and ready to serve the public.

The Telangana government aims to finish building 25 hospital structures under the directorate of secondary health care by March 2027, according to a report by Deccan Chronicle.

During a review meeting on Monday at the Rajiv Aarogyasri Trust office in Jubilee Hills, Health Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha stated that nine of these buildings are already finished.

Telangana Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TGMSIDC) managing director Gaurav Uppal told the minister that 14 more buildings are expected to be ready by December 2026, while 11 others should be completed by March 2027.

The minister instructed officials to install furniture and medical equipment in the nine finished buildings to make them operational. He also ordered the immediate procurement of items for the remaining sites.

Rajanarasimha directed officials to ensure all buildings under the directorate are finished by the end of 2027. He noted that approximately 15,000 health department roles, including doctors and nurses, were filled in the last three years.

The minister also advised officials to prepare for El Niño conditions to prevent disruptions to electricity and water supply in hospitals. Health principal secretary Dr Christina Z. Chongthu was among the officials present.
