Union coal and mines minister G Kishan Reddy said that the annual tax devolution to Telangana has increased by nearly 90 per cent, according to The Times of India.

Reddy stated that the devolution rose to ₹33,181 crore in 2026-27 from ₹17,496 crore in 2021-22. He noted that the annual devolution increased by ₹15,685 crore during this period.

The minister shared that the amount rose steadily from ₹19,668 crore in 2022-23 to ₹23,592 crore in 2023-24 and ₹27,050 crore in 2024-25. It reached ₹29,900 crore in 2025-26.

Reddy said Telangana’s share in central taxes under the 16th Finance Commission increased from 2.102 per cent to 2.174 per cent. He added that an additional advance instalment of ₹2,370 crore was released to the state.

Crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the increased allocations, Reddy said these measures reflect the Centre's commitment to the growth of Telangana.

The minister suggested the Telangana government should focus on converting these resources into improved public services, better infrastructure, and opportunities for citizens.
