TG-Redco officials told to speed up renewable energy scheme implementation

Vice-chairman Jithesh V. Patil directed district managers to meet planned targets and resolve field-level challenges through departmental coordination.

Jithesh V. Patil, the vice-chairman and managing director of the Telangana State Renewable Energy Development Corporation (TG-Redco), has instructed officials to fast-track renewable energy schemes across Telangana. Speaking during a virtual meeting with district managers on Monday, Patil emphasised meeting planned targets within set timelines.

According to The Hindu, Patil reviewed several initiatives, including the Model Solar Village Programme, rooftop solar power plant installations, and the solarisation of agricultural pump sets. He also looked into the PM-KUSUM scheme, energy conservation efforts, and the development of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure.

The vice-chairman asked for updates on completed work, current progress, and any outstanding issues. He told district managers to inform potential users about the advantages of installing rooftop solar through the Gruha Jyothi scheme.

Patil called for the creation of district-level action plans to reach goals for the PM-KUSUM scheme and agricultural pump set solarisation. He further directed officials to expedite the process of securing departmental approvals and to finish all pending inspections without delay.
