Udupi district hospital inauguration date to be decided after Bengaluru meeting

District In-charge Minister Rizwan Arshad will meet the Karnataka Health Minister and senior officials on November 3 to discuss the facility.

The inauguration date for the new district hospital in Udupi will be determined following discussions with the Karnataka Health Minister and senior officials, according to Medical Dialogues. District In-charge Minister Rizwan Arshad said a meeting is scheduled to take place in Bengaluru on November 3.

Arshad stated he has requested an appointment with the Health Minister. He is also organising a meeting involving the Deputy Commissioner, elected representatives, and senior district officials to address hospital-related matters.

The minister said he intends to inspect the hospital and hold detailed talks with Health Department officials. He noted that a collective decision will be made after reviewing the situation and promised to share the inauguration date once the meeting concludes.

Addressing the absence of the Udupi district-level Rajyotsava Awards, Arshad said the government is looking into creating a uniform policy for the state. He mentioned that current practices vary between districts.

The government plans to consult the Kannada and Culture Department to create a common system with specific selection criteria. A committee will be formed to ensure awards are given based on merit without external influence.

Arshad also addressed reports regarding the exclusion of a doctor from Udupi from the State Rajyotsava Award list. He said he was unaware of the situation until arriving and intends to speak with Minister Tangadagi about the matter.
