Aadicura Hospital hosts Stroke Warriors event in Vadodara

More than 50 patients were recognised for their recovery during a programme marking World Stroke Day.

Aadicura Superspeciality Hospital organised a gathering in Vadodara on Sunday to observe World Stroke Day, according to reports from The Tribune and ANI. The event, titled “Stroke Warriors”, brought together over 50 patients previously treated for strokes by the hospital.

The programme aimed to highlight how to identify, prevent, and treat strokes in a timely manner. Survivors shared personal accounts of their experiences and treatments with an audience of healthcare professionals, families, and citizens.

The event included a live demonstration of stroke warning signs, an expert session on lifestyle changes, and a collective Stroke Awareness Pledge. Organisers noted that the burden of stroke is rising among younger people due to changing lifestyles.

Neurosurgeon and Endovascular Neurosurgeon Dr Sandip Mavani said that the hospital's Stroke Warriors initiative, under PAHAL, aims to help communities recognise symptoms and act without delay. He stated that timely intervention can transform outcomes.

Dr Sumit Kapadia, Chairman of Aadicura Superspeciality Hospital, said the hospital strives to make health awareness an ongoing public conversation through its PAHAL – Karein Baat Health Ki initiative.

The session identified high blood pressure, diabetes, and unhealthy habits as risk factors. Experts emphasised that stroke is a medical emergency where early recognition can reduce the risk of severe disability.
