UPSRTC to operate 1,400 daily buses from Anand Vihar for Diwali

The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation will add 400 to 500 extra buses from November 5 to manage festive travel demand.

The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) will run approximately 1,400 buses every day from Delhi's Anand Vihar interstate bus terminal during the Diwali and Chhath travel period, according to Urban Acres.

The corporation plans to deploy 400 to 500 extra buses starting November 5 to assist passengers travelling from Delhi to various cities in Uttar Pradesh. Priority will be given to routes for Lucknow and Gorakhpur, with more buses also available for Bareilly, Badaun, Kanpur, and other major destinations.

Inderpal, the senior centre in-charge at the Anand Vihar terminal, stated that the facility manages about 50,000 passengers daily during the festival season. To assist with security and crowd management, additional police personnel will be stationed at the terminal.

The UPSRTC will use newer buses and redeploy vehicles from other routes to meet high demand. Drivers and conductors performing continuous duty from November 6 to 17 will receive a daily allowance of Rs 400 on top of their regular salaries, while contract workers may also receive incentives under certain conditions.
