Cyberabad Police advise IT firms to implement early logout for rain

Organisations are encouraged to allow work from home between November 3 and November 5 due to a forecast of moderate to heavy rainfall.

The Cyberabad Traffic Police have advised IT companies and other organisations within the commissionerate to implement staggered early logouts from 2 p.m. between Tuesday, November 3, and Thursday, November 5, 2026. According to The Hindu, this advisory comes in response to a forecast of moderate to heavy rainfall across the region.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Traffic) requested that organisations aim to finish the staggered logout process by 4 p.m. The move is intended to reduce travel risks and prevent heavy traffic congestion during the afternoon and evening. The police noted that intermittent weather and unexpected heavy rain are expected over the three days.

The advisory stated that these steps are necessary to protect employee safety, ensure business continuity, and reduce pressure on road infrastructure. It also aims to allow emergency services to move without interruption.

Police have also suggested that IT firms and other organisations consider permitting employees to work from home during this period instead of travelling to their offices.

Organisations have been asked to email their locations and proposed logout timings to [email protected]. This will assist the Cyberabad Traffic Police in making appropriate traffic management arrangements.
