Delhi LG reviews DDA flats in Narela to check amenities

Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu inspected infrastructure and security measures in the Narela sub-city on November 3.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor Taranjit Singh Sandhu visited Narela on November 3 to assess urban development and infrastructure work by the Delhi Development Authority (DDA). According to The News Mill, the inspection included evaluating services from the Delhi Police, Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD), Delhi Jal Board (DJB), and the Transport Department.

Sandhu reviewed DDA flats in Pocket 11, Sectors A1 to A4, noting high demand for ready-to-move-in housing. He instructed DDA officials to speed up the provision of built-up spaces for the police to help operationalise police stations, chowkis, and beats. He stated that more police presence would help address criminal and drug-related issues while improving public safety.

The Lieutenant Governor said that housing development must include adequate public facilities, communal spaces, and security. He warned that failing to provide necessary services to residents would not be accepted and promised to continue monitoring infrastructure progress.

Sandhu also inspected land in Sectors G7 and G8 designated for an integrated Education Hub. This 138-hectare hub, under the Master Plan for Delhi-2047, is intended for higher education, research, and vocational training. He noted that the sub-city development under the Land Pooling Policy would support planned urban growth.
