Delhi takes first innings lead against Services in Ranji Trophy

Ayush Doseja and Sumit Mathur shared a 144-run partnership to rescue Delhi from 135 for five.

Delhi reached 299 for six at the close of play on Tuesday during their Elite Group-C Ranji Trophy match against Services at the Airforce Complex Ground in Palam, according to The Hindu.

The hosts secured a 33-run lead after bowling out Services for 266 on the opening day.

Ayush Doseja scored 78 from 154 balls, while Sumit Mathur remained unbeaten on 80 from 159 balls. The two left-handers shared a sixth-wicket partnership of 144 runs after Delhi was reduced to 135 for five in 39.2 overs.

Doseja, who scored 949 runs last season, said he focused on not getting out by his own mistake. He noted that he felt he was batting well despite not scoring a half-century in his last four innings.

For Services, Arjun Sharma took 2 for 48 and Jayant Goyat took 2 for 51. Other bowlers, Virender Nepal and Pulkit Narang, claimed one wicket each.

Priyansh Arya scored 58 for Services, while Delhi's Ayush Badoni was dismissed for 7.
