Telangana Housing MD directs sanctioning of 2,000 Indiramma houses per constituency

Officials must complete the sanctioning process for the second phase of the housing scheme within one week, according to The Hindu.

Telangana Housing Department officials have been directed to complete the sanctioning process for 2,000 Indiramma houses per Assembly constituency within one week, according to The Hindu.

The directive was issued during a meeting with district project directors and deputy engineers in Hyderabad on Monday, November 2, 2026. Managing Director V.P. Gautham stated that priority will be given to people living in huts.

Gautham noted that people are eagerly waiting for the second phase following the success of the first phase. Under the first phase, around 3.3 lakh houses were sanctioned and construction of approximately 2 lakh houses has been completed.

The meeting addressed the selection process, remedies for delays in clearing beneficiary bills, and awareness regarding government-facilitated cement bags. Gautham said the State government issued guidelines for selecting beneficiaries living in huts, which must be followed.

Officials were told to coordinate house allocation with district in-charge ministers and public representatives. Project directors were also asked to inform people about the option to self-upload house photos online to prevent delays in bill clearances.

Additionally, awareness must be created regarding the government facility that allows beneficiaries to purchase cement at lower prices.
