UP outsourced staff to receive revised salaries from September

The state government will provide arrears to 2.70 lakh employees working across more than 70 government departments.

The Uttar Pradesh government announced on Monday that revised salaries for outsourced staff under the Uttar Pradesh Corporation for Outsourced Services (UPCOS) will be effective retrospectively from September.

According to the Hindustan Times, a government order from the Department of Secretariat Administration clarified that the wage rates mentioned in a previous order issued on September 19, 2026, will apply from September 2, 2026.

This adjustment ensures that workers in government departments get their updated pay for November, including back pay for the earlier months. The move is expected to benefit at least 2.70 lakh employees working on contracts in over 70 departments.

Principal Secretary of Secretariat Administration Manish Chauhan said that departments currently paying wages lower than those in the government order will receive budgetary provisions to cover the extra costs.

The new wage structure includes four levels: ₹39,000 for Level I, ₹21,947 for Level II, ₹19,446 for Level III, and ₹17,646 for Level IV. Employees will also receive EPF and ESI benefits with equal contributions from the employer.

To protect the interests of the staff, the respective departments will bear the costs of GST, service charges, and centage.
