Shailendra Kumar assigned interim Jammu and Kashmir Chief Secretary
The 1995-batch IAS officer will hold the charge until Dr Sajjan Singh Yadav assumes office.
The Jammu and Kashmir government has assigned the charge of Union Territory Chief Secretary to Shailendra Kumar until the arrival of Dr Sajjan Singh Yadav, according to The Indian Express. Kumar, a 1995-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer, currently serves as Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) in the Finance Department and holds additional charge of the Administrative Secretary for the Agriculture Production Department.
Dr Sajjan Singh Yadav was appointed as the new Chief Secretary by the Ministry of Home Affairs, effective from November 1 or the date he assumes charge. He succeeds Atal Dulloo, who retired on October 31. The General Administration Department (GAD) issued the order for Kumar to look after the charge in the interim.
A major administrative reshuffle was also ordered by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, as reported by Greater Kashmir. Shaleen Kabra, who was Financial Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) at the Jal Shakti Department, has been transferred and posted as Director General of the Jammu and Kashmir Institute of Management, Public Administration and Rural Development (IMPARD).
Other changes include Chandraker Bharti, Commissioner (Additional Chief Secretary) of the Home Department, being assigned additional charge of Financial Commissioner, Revenue, J&K. M Raju, Commissioner Secretary of the GAD, will hold additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Estates Department, while Saugat Biswas, Commissioner Secretary of the Health and Medical Education Department, will take additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Jal Shakti Department.
Additionally, Rehana Batul, Director General of IMPARD, has been posted as Commissioner Secretary, Tribal Affairs Department. Avny Lavasa, Secretary of the Tourism Department, has been relieved of the additional charge of Tribal Affairs and assigned additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Revenue Department.
