Vidarbha defeat Madhya Pradesh by an innings at Nagpur

Left-arm spinners Parth Rekhade and Harsh Dubey dismantled Madhya Pradesh to secure an innings and 20-run victory.

Vidarbha secured an innings and 20-run victory against Madhya Pradesh at the VCA Jamtha Stadium on Wednesday, according to Sportstar. The host side's left-arm spin duo, Parth Rekhade and Harsh Dubey, caused Madhya Pradesh to fall from 79 for two to 105 all out in just thirty minutes.

The left-arm spinners accounted for 22 of the 30 wickets taken during the match, including all 10 wickets in the final innings. Rekhade noted that the wickets were not a result of massive turn, but rather better bowling speeds and variations in pace compared to the opposition.

Rekhade said the wicket was slow and low until the day of the match and began to turn from the end of Harsh Dubey. He added that the two bowlers complement each other, with one containing while the other attacks.

Vidarbha was playing without captain Akshay Wadkar, who suffered a serious injury on the second evening. Rekhade said coach Usman Ghani told the team to use the grit shown by Wadkar's century as motivation to win.

Harsh Dubey currently leads the Ranji Trophy wicket-taking charts with 28 wickets at 11.64. Rekhade has taken 13 wickets at 19.07 in three appearances. Vidarbha has won all four of its matches in the first leg of the tournament.
