Florida family recreates Fenway Park in backyard for toddler's birthday party
Nicole Quimby and her husband spent $2,000 to build a miniature baseball stadium for their son Jaxson's second birthday.
A family in Tampa, Florida, spent approximately $2,000 and one month transforming their backyard into a miniature version of Boston's Fenway Park for their son Jaxson's second birthday, according to the Times of India.
The celebration featured a baseball diamond, a replica of the Green Monster wall, a ticket booth, stadium-style food, and a home run derby for 25 young players.
The project was inspired by Jaxson's interest in baseball, which developed after a family visit to the historic ballpark in Boston two years ago.
Nicole Quimby and her husband used equipment they already owned to mow the grass into a diamond shape and laid out bases with dirt and painted foul lines.
To recreate the Green Monster, the family sourced framed wooden panels through Facebook Marketplace and painted them green, adding a scoreboard decal and the Red Sox logo.
The total expenditure included approximately $1,500 for dirt and materials for the baseball setup and $500 for indoor decorations.
The month-long effort involved help from several relatives and friends, including two neighbourhood college students who assisted with assembling the field.
