Keerthy Suresh discusses relationship challenges and marriage to Antony Thattil
The actor revealed that her family initially had problems regarding her husband's Christian faith.
South Indian actor Keerthy Suresh recently spoke about her 15-year relationship with her husband, Antony Thattil, before they married in 2024. According to a report by The Indian Express, the National Award-winning actor shared details about their journey and the challenges faced during their courtship.
Suresh stated that because Thattil is a Christian, she faced problems at home and had to spend time convincing her family. She noted that Thattil, who runs a window furnishings import business, had known her since before she became an actor.
The actor also recalled how her mother, veteran actor Menaka, discovered the relationship after reading her diary while Suresh was in college. Suresh said she stopped writing in a diary after that incident and expressed a feeling that her mother might have burned it.
Suresh said the couple met through mutual friends in December 2009 and began dating in January 2010. She mentioned that keeping the relationship private was easy because they often travelled with groups of friends rather than alone.
The couple married on December 12, 2024, in Goa with a traditional Tamil Brahmin and Malayali Christian ceremony. Speaking to Galatta India, Suresh said the wedding was an emotional moment as they had previously had nightmares of eloping.
Suresh was recently featured in the Netflix series Akka, directed by Dharmaraj Shetty, alongside Radhika Apte.
